The overall adoption of patient-facing digital health solutions is notoriously low. While many factors can explain this lack of adoption, a large part of this situation could be solved by integrating patient views as early as possible in the design and development process. It is the responsibility of pharma companies and their partners in digital health to make sure that these views are taken into consideration. We detail in this article published in OnDrugDelivery our views on why patient feedback matters for digital solutions and give some recommendations on the best ways to engage with patients all along design and development, from patient journey discovery to evaluations of the solution use in real-world environment. Only through better patient engagement will we increase adoption of digital health solutions and ultimately contribute to more positive health outcomes.
